High Fidelity PL: "The best cartridge so far from this legendary brand. It offers everything that Shilabe and Kansui do and than some more. It is perfect." Read the full review HERE.

-Madake-

Miyajima uses a Japanese bamboo (Madake) for a this cartridge.

Mr.Thomas Edison used this same special madake attached to the filament of the historic electric bulb.

This special madake is only produced on the mountain of Kyoto, Japan.

Mr.Thomas Edison found this to be the highest quality madake from 1,200 kinds of bamboo around the entire world.

This Madake is a firm bamboo which grows in the rich Japanese soil with a high iron content.

Because Miyajima was looking for the firm cantilever which was not metal, Madake met all the condition.

Miyajima negotiated to obtain a special Madake in Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu Shrine of the mountain of Kyoto.

Because Miyajima respects Mr. Edison the inventor, "Edison" is included in the name of the Miyajima Japanese audio shop.

In a way, Miyajima feels Mr. Edison handed over some madake to us knowing how exceptional it is.

Madake possesses ideal materials for special sound quality.

Madake is rare bamboo now. It is no longer sold.

Please do not make inquiries about Madake purchases from the Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu.

There is Edison monument in Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu Shrine.

Iwashimizu Hachiman-gu Shrine is one of Japan's three biggest Hachiman-gu Shrine.

About the special cantilever for the Madake and Saboten

Miyajima has a reason to cover a special cantilever with an aluminum cantilever.
The ideal is to bring the tip of the stylus closer on the extension of the center of the unique cantilever.
Vibration is transferred  to its special cantilever from a stylus.
