The Destiny the best rich warm detailed weighty open wide neutral  -- TA Mini Review

Perfect 10 Award: Overall Rating: 10 LPs (the highest). The Miyajima Destiny phono cartridge is very well made and highly resistant to harm from handling, as it was installed numerous times on different tonearms with no noticeable reduction in sonic performance. The Miyajima Destiny phono cartridge offers a total musical experience that places it in the top echelon of today’s best cartridges. The listening experience is always immensely satisfying and enjoyable, even on a wide range turntables and tonearms. It is definitely a keeper, at least until Miyajima-san surpasses this wonderful achievement. Read the full Review Here.

Stereophile: ...conclusion: "the Destiny is for now Miyajima Labs' best performing cartridge."

Among many experiments, Miyajima learned that there is an important relationship between the cartridge needle pressure and the weight of the main body.

It was not a good thing if the ratio is too heavy, Therefore ingenuity of material and structure was required.

The completed sound is a balance resembles an isosceles triangle.

The bass is thick and tight.

Mid-range is firmly insistant.

The treble that has no useless resonance but is realistic.

The sound separation is the best Miyajima ever produced.

The listener gets the feeling that all the performers are putting their feet on the ground.

The sound image is stable, with a large depth and presence.

When you finish listening to the LP, you will feel like clapping players unintentionally (Miyajima's words) .

The Destiny stereo cartridge uses a bamboo cantilever and LC solid diamond stylus.

The Bamboo cantilever is tapered.

It is light and strong due to careful processing.

Until now, Miyajima has weighted the head shell and adjusted the weight with a spacer.

However, it seems to be a little different from when they used heavy cartridge body.

Low-frequency energy is strong.

Drums and bass have a newly refined accuracy. Vocals are fresh.

There is little sense of distortion, and it reproduces even the lowest of low level detail.

By making the body heavy, the extra sound generated by the intense movement of the needle point is gone.

Since the weight of the cartridge became heavier, it is necessary to select a proper arm, but it was able to demonstrate the merit of the cross ring method to the maximum.

Link to the next cartridge in the line.
