Audion Silver Night 300B Anniversary Stereo Hard Wired Amplifier

Exclusively imported by True Audiophile

Audion's careful answer to the 300B movement. From hand-wound output transformer to unity gain, this is a 300B worth living with for quite a while...Mini Review by True Audiophile

Audion Silver Night Anniversary amplifiers are all hard wired. Our intermediate power amplifier, uses well known 300B tubes. Like all our amplifiers they ares hand built. The Silver Night Stereo range can reproduce subtleties and nuances in music that cannot be found in other amps of this price. Auto biased and have very conservative watt ratings which is equal to almost twice their rating if tested by competitors methods.

Audion Silver Night Anniversary 300B amplifier is hand built and point to point hard wired (Air Wired©). We avoid the use of Chinese components where possible. This triode based stereo amp uses no (zero) feedback in the design.

The Audion Silver Night range of amplifiers are the best known of the Audion products, and the ones that have won most awards, notably amp of the year in Japan 2010. The SN 300B hard wired was the amp originally reviewed by Sam Tellig that put Audion’s name onto the map.

This Audion Silver Night Anniversary is best suited for use with loudspeakers of 92db or better efficiency. Ideally matched with our range of Proton or Electron cables. The amps deliver 7 watts into 8 ohms from a 300B.

Having a volume control on the front and stereo inputs on the rear means that a pre-amplifier is not necessary with this unit. The 300B amp comes with JJ300B tubes, the PX25 comes with KR PX25 and the 2A3 uses either Sovtek or Electro Harmonix.Integrated option (5 Stereo inputs is available). The chassis is black powder coated aluminum as is the transformer cover. The top plate and badge are mirror finished stainless steel.

The 300B gives a good overall sonic performance from a well know tube. ohm tapping that can be changed internally. As the Audion brand name is so well known this is the most popular selling amp in our line-up and the one that wins hearts and minds. The current Audion Silver Night Anniversary is now 5th Generation product, originally being sold in 1987. It was rated "Amp of the year in Japan" and has rave customer and professional reviews.

All Audion Stereo Amps are available as an integrated which provides 5 inputs and tape. Volume remote is also an option.

Components of the Audion components:

 • Transformers and chokes are design and handmade by Audion: Mains, chokes and output transformers.
 • Superior quality parts sourced from Europe or the US. Even the capacitors are made to Audion’s exacting specifications.
 • Chassis’ are finished in-house which includes powder coating and electroplating to ensure quality.
 • Special voicing of Audion amplifiers requires every part be meticulously designed to meet their standards.
 • Every component is hand built usually point to point. Once burned in they listen again in case they are not satisfied before releasing each unit.

Love at first sound

Introduced in 1972 to what at that time was considered hi end audio, I purchased my original system. My dealer at that time, recomended I purchase tube equiptment, but with different views at the time, I opted for what I thought was key, 105 watts per channel, a Mac solid state system. About three years ago, I decided to upgrade my turn table, and was introduced to Deetes Sound Room in Charmichael, CA. Deetes, having been there since the 60's, has seen it all in audio. His laid back approach is focused on eliminating the customers normal, buy/trade/upgrade cycle. Deetes shares the experiances of his long time customer base, and the up trading they did to get where they are. Unable to accept that 7watts could sound as dynamic as 105watts, I started comparing. Countless days at the Sound Room comparing amps like Audio Valve, Audio Note, the two most worthy opponents, I came to notice, whenever I went to the Sound Room the Audion Silver Nite 300B was always playing. I also came to discover that untill I got to the $20.000.00 Audio Note mono blocks, with big upgrades, and Western Electric tubes, I found the Audion Silver Nite, was a shining star, and at a fraction of the cost of others, without the need for a pre amp, which could cost as much, or even more than the amp. Now I knew that the Audion was what I considered the best buy in audio, but I still did not believe it's low power rating would drive my LE85's, and LE15A's, used to 105watts. After expressing my concern, Deetes handed me the Audion, and sent me home to try it on my system. As soon as the music began I knew my search was over. It took 20min for me to break away long enough to call Deetes, telling him to write it up, I was now a proud Audioneer! Value, without sacraficing quality. Try it, you will love it!

Warranty: Reviews for Audion Silver Night Anniversary 300B From 6moons Stephaen 2011 "So in the realm of tone, harmonics and texture it surpasses the Pass.

...sumptuous with voices ... all—and here’s what separates it from some others—whilst remaining well-balanced, well-grounded and well-focused.

... consider the organic nature of what is there - an emotional conviction that grabs you and makes you forget about the audiophile checklist.

The timbral truth was hard to deny. With no tipped up and ultimately fatiguing tonal balance issues it was impossible not to connect.

And as the shakers and all manner of other percussion entered and showed the depth of the stage with its vertical layering to be oh so creditable … suddenly all that didn’t matter. As my intellect checked out I involuntarily dropped my pen and sunk into the rest of the album.

Instruments and voices were rendered in full and naturally warm color. Not Technicolor, not sepia.

... in my system the Audion allowed for both. It could take me to the venue and reveal the moods therein. It was then that the Audion became hard to ignore. Which is why it deserves an audition by those to whom such qualities speak."
