The Primare I22 is a two x 80 watt integrated amplifier utilising our acclaimed proprietary UFPD power technology. It is designed to provide high power output with very low distortion and system control.
An optional DAC board is available for the I22, comprising three digital inputs for the upgrading of existing CD players via their digital outputs, and the streaming of music files from PCs and Macs. There is an isochronous USB-B input (16-24bit data at 44.1 to 96kHz), a TOSLINK connector (16-24 bit data at 44.1-192kHz) and SPDIF (16-24bit/44.1-192kHz). Specialised processing at the Isochronous USB-B input re-clocks the incoming data for reduced jitter and greater bit resolution through the DAC, optimising sound quality from music files.

Reviews of Primare I22 Integrated Amplifier
CD22/I22 Home Electronics magazine, Switzerland, September 2011
Through this system you can enjoy Class D amplification without compromise. The I22 sets a new benchmark in natural music playback.
CD22/I22 Stereo Prestige & Image, France, September 2011
Primare’s engineers truly have an exceptional mastery of digital and analogue circuit configuration. They prove it not only with the CD22 player’s quite exceptional analytical capability and well structured rendering of timbres, but also with the I22, defying all the prejudices regarding switch-mode power supplies and switching power levels. Thanks to their very interesting UFPD architecture (creating unconditional stability of operation regardless of the type of speakers) and the selection of sampling frequency from the CD22, the reproduction allows listening in complete serenity, without aggression, from these two perfectly matched electronics.
CD22/I22 Hi Fi Choice, UK, December 2011
“..visually, these units just ooze class…the chassis are based on thick steel sheet – you could probably stand on these without leaving a mark…we’ve seldom heard energy and detail so well balanced in an affordable system...We were particularly aware of this neat balancing trick when listening to a recently bought CD of the Canadian piano virtuoso Marc-Andre Hamelin, playing some of his own compositions. He plays so many notes per second that it’s quite a tall order for a hi-fi system to reproduce them all clearly and we’ve heard one or two manage that, but lose the overall shape of the music. In this case however, we were able to hear with great precision, not only which notes were going down, but where the general progression was leading and what the piano itself sounded like.”
CD22/I22 Audio Magazine, Poland, December 2011

I22, AudioVideo Poland, September 2011
“Exceptionaly fast and rhythmic amplifier with very good stereo. Solid enclosure, nice design and low power consumption are additional benefits of Swedish unit.”
I22/CD22 HiFi Vision, Germany, February 2012 "Yes, the 22s have a little less power, and the stripped-down equipment could be mentioned, too, but what remains are the open, honest tone and the unbridled enthusiasm of the Primare combo. For me, the CD22 and I22 are a true HiFi highlight not only because of the very fair price!"
I22/CD22 Audio Magazine, Korea, April 2013
When reviewed with the Audio Physic Classic 10 speakers, the I22/CD22 system proved a real hit with the reviewer. The magazine concludes that "the aesthetics of matching can be sensed. This combination is excellent, indeed."
I22/CD22 system, AudioVideo magazine, Czech Republic, March 2013
The I22/CD22 system has beaten rivals from Denon, Marantz and Rotel in a test of systems from Czech magazine Audio Video. The magazine concludes: “As you can see from the interim evaluation, the most impressive product for us was the Primare system. Its digital amplifier in combination with the quality converters provides very accurate and realistic sound. The quantity of subtly and accurately audible details creates a vivid music image in front of the listener. Another asset is the connection options, especially for the digital signals, and the luxury of the input from a PC directly to the amplifier.”
