"Purchased the studio Tracker Cartridge for a TT in my family room rig. Basically a home theater system with a Music Hall MMF-2.1 TT with a Musical Surroundings Phonomena II+going through a Yamaha Aventage Home Theater. Cart out the box has lots of bass....she has about 3 hours on her and I can say for $200 its a very good cartridge. Well worth the money in its price range! If anyone is looking for a nice dynamic balanced cart within this class...this has to be on your list for sure. This is a very musical cart. Kinda hard to believe you get this level of enjoyment for only $200...Have about 3 hours on the cartridge and if its going to evolve any more, i'm in for one heck of a surprise because what I'm hearing now is outstanding at its price point. The sound is clear, transparent, balance....no color added, emotional and romantic depending on the muisc. This is far from a cold experience. It has a nice bass response as well as a very nice treble response. No semblance or surface noise (all my records are cleaned) and the back ground is very silent. You can also hear what's going on in the mids equally as good. It throws off a very nice sound stage with 3d effects as well. The overall sound is neutral and the cart doesn't bring attention to its self. This is a very enjoyable cartridge. Now this is the entry level cart made by MoFi....they have 2 more carts up the chain...they must be some killer cartridges and must be some knock out carts because I can say with confidence the Studio tracker kills my 2m red as it should at $200 and it kills the 2m Blue and I'd say its just as good as my Denon DL-301MK2 as well as coming very close to the 2M Bronze but not as refined as the 2M Bronze...but like I said, only about 3 hours on her so far...time will tell...Yeah...its evolving....I can tell....female voices and strings are outstanding for the money paid.....I wont be surprised to see this cart go up in price once it starts to take off...at $200 its a hell of a deal from what I'm hearing. IF you like the way MoFi records sound.....that's whats seem to be coming through with the way this cart is tuned. Real MoFi!... This cart seems to give a lot of inner detail than expected at such price. Its a very emotional and involving presentation. Meaning it seems to draw the listener, at least me, into the music in a way that just has that "boogie feel" to it while not drawing attention to its self. Its very musical, emotional and has that even presentation as not to stand out like some carts do....Its clear, transparent well defined mids. Nothing in your face...not saying the 2M Red and Blue has all those things but yet this presentation has a more natural and real feel to the presentation..." Mobile Fidelity STUDIOTRACKER
MoFi cartridges are designed by looking back at where a record starts: On a lacquer cutting lathe like the model used at Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. StudioTracker features a V-Twin dual-magnet generator that mirrors the layout of the cutting head that originally made a record’s grooves.
V-TWIN DUAL-MAGNET GENERATOR
Employing two low-mass, powerful magnets aligned in a V formation parallel with the stereo record grooves, StudioTracker accurately extracts precious details from your LPs.
ELLIPTICAL DIAMOND STYLUS
With a polymer body and elliptical stylus, StudioTracker offers surprising bang-for-your-buck value and a rich sound distinguished with a smooth, slightly forgiving top end.
