Audion Sterling KT88 Anniversary stereo is hard wired point to point using better graded components and larger, hand-built Audion wound output transformers (EI96). It will take almost any KT88 (Unit is supplied with JJ tubes) delivers a conservative 18 CLEAN watts into 8 ohms. Therefore, it has the power of competitors boasting 36-40W.

Reviews for Audion Sterling KT88 Anniversary Amplifier

Became interested in Audion amps after reading show reports of Audion amps being paired with the Zu Soul Superfly speakers. I had been using a Stereophile class A rated push pull integrated amp which I have owned for about 5 years, but had read interesting comments about how well single ended amps mated with Zu speakers.
Purchased an older used Audion Sterling on Agon which sounded very good to my ears , but of course wondered what the newer models sounded like. Spoke with distributor Gary Alpern at length about Audion and their approach to design philosophy and decided to try the KT88 Anniversary amp. Received the amp 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. The amp mates beautifully with the Zu Superfly throwing a huge 3D soundstage that while wonderfully detailed never sounds forced or irritating . I have heard details in recordings I have listened to hundreds of times and had never noticed before. While the amp is able to resolve details present in recordings it does not draw attention to the details, but presents them as part of the musical flow. The Audion mated with the Zu speakers allows the human emotion of the performance to shine. If you are a Zu owner and are considering a new amp please do yourself a favor and audition Audion
